When a user try to upload a file some times we see it getting saved as given below.
<file><name>scnull</name><content>scnull</content></file>
Whats the reason for this and how to resolve this ?

This is not something I have see before, but the file is not being uploaded for some reason.
You can try turning on SmartObject Server Logging and check to see what is being passed back to the server.
