AssureSign: Document won't load in the Envelope Workspace

Issue

When I load my document into the Envelope Workspace in AssureSign, the document won't show.  I get the title of the document, but not the body of the document.

 

Error Code

None.

 

Resolution

This generally happens when there's securities on the document in question. To fix this, open your PDF in a PDF Editor or Viewer and look at the Securities section found under Properties.  If there is a lock on any of the settings there, you'll need to first try to save the PDF without the locks on.  If you're unable to turn the securities off, a quick way to get around that is to simply "Print to PDF" and use that new file you've printed.

 

Additional Information

AssureSign requires the ability to have write access to the entire set of layers of a PDF file.  If there's any securities in place that prohibits this, the user will experience this issue.
