Site Workflow Wait Event Not Triggered By Update Item Action

ISSUE
When using the “Wait for Event in List Item” action within a Site Workflow, if the item is updated with the Updated Item action the "Wait for Event" action never progresses. 
ERROR CODE
RESOLUTION
Use the Office 365 Update Items action instead of the out of the box Update Item action.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Update Item action does not trigger the item updated event receiver, which prevents events such as workflows starting on item update or the "Wait for Event" action from triggering.

    Thanks for this post. Helpful.... after searching for almost a day for the reason why my workflow did not proceed. Only after a manual update suddenly all the Wait actions on that particular list (various items) suddenly proceeded...

     

    A note in the help file would have been a great time saver. Or maybe we can reshuffle our help system such that there is not just a button to the help page for the action but also a button for all community posts that refer to this action. Or maybe just fix it?
