ISSUE

When saving or publishing a workflow that contains a State Machine action, the following error might occur:

Error publishing workflow. Object reference not set to an instance of an object

ERROR CODE

RESOLUTION

Configure the State machine action and at least one of the branches.

Note: After the workflow has been saved, the branch configuration can be cleared.
