I must stress this question is for Nintex and SharePoint online. The resources I have found so far focus on On-Prem solutions and I have so far been unable to convert those processes into a Nintex 365 format. My query is, is it possible/how would I go about updating List Items in "MainList" from a document (Excel) in a document library "PlannerLibrary"? Currently I update a list called "Planner" with information various contractors send through in Excel. There is a workflow on that list when items are added or modified that will update the Jobs List (main list) with the planner information. Ideally I would like to upload the Excel file to a document library and have a workflow read this file for "Job Numbers" and update items in the main list where "Excel:Job Numbers = MainList:Job Numbers" - thus eliminating the process of copy/paste from excel to Access to update the planner list (this list could grow greatly and waiting for the sync from Access to SharePoint makes this process 'bad
Hi! Please explain to me the form converting to pdf through workflow. I have a client who has tens of forms in one list (previously made with Infopath). Those forms now need to make into Nintex forms and I'm waiting for "paging" (hopefully Nintex will released this spring) to help little bit of editing forms, but the show-stopper now for the client is the workflow to convert those forms into pdf's. I haven't done this before so I do not know exactly how it is. This I know that workflow uses Word and the middle to pdf, but what do you need to do to Word?If I have perfect form that I like to have converted as it is to pdf, what do I need to do with Word? If you change in form something, let's say add a control --- do need to change in word also something? Any detailed answers to this is appriciated!
When sending reminders for overdue tasks, I've noticed that the "Number of times to repeat" property will not accept a workflow variable. This is the case for both the "Assign a Task" and "Start a Task Process" actions. This is far from an "issue" but definitely an inconsistency with the product. I've run into a case with a customer, where being able to drive this value from a variable could have saved a good bit of design time. Thanks!Patrick
On my list, when I do not have a Nintex Form (SharePoint default), when clicking my attachments they open in Office Online. When I add the Nintex Form, the attachments then revert to download/open in client. My site collection settings all stipulate that the default behavior is opening in Online as well. Any ideas on how to change/fix this?
We have a business requirement for our project site. On a task, there is a multi-select people picker field that people put "Interested Parties" in. These people get certain email updates and such. It has now been requested that we generate an email to any person who is added after the creation to this field. The only solution I can think of for this is to have a field called "Add to Interested Parties," have an email generated to that person (or those people) then append those people to the "Interested Parties" field and wipe out the "Add To" field. I tried having a second hidden interestedParties2 field so I could check for a diff. But once I saw the diff, I was having trouble determining which was the "new entry" so that I could generate the email (the requirement is to send the email only to the newly added person).
I have a workflow that looks at a list within SharePoint, some of the columns required will not contain data. How do a do a Run if from a look up list configuration when the column is blank? Kind regards Claire
Hi Team, I have a SharePoint calculated column which is just a subtract of two number columns on List.I have written a small nintex workflow where I am updating the column with some value and getting the Calculated column value. But, the Calculated Column value is not updated inside the workflow, when I try to access the Calculated column it still shows the original value. Kindly suggest me, how can I get the update Calculated column value to set to a workflow variable.
Hi,I have a Repeated Section in Nintex Forms for Office 365 and for now I just want to extract the number of repeated items in that section just as follows; REPEATED SECTION TEXT ONCE FORM IS STORED:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><RepeaterData> <Version /> <Items> <Item> <ItemTitle_x0020_ type="System.String">this is title 1</ItemTitle_x0020_> </Item> <Item> <ItemTitle_x0020_ type="System.String">this is title 2</ItemTitle_x0020_> </Item></Items></RepeaterData> Workflow Action Query XML only does this: count(//RepeaterData/Items/Item) (screenshot) And when ran the Workflow log shows me an error "The request cannot be processed due to internal error" but nothing else. any idea ? screenshot of the error: thanks,Francois

I've been in Nintex 2010 for two years and I'm slowly moving to Nintex for O365. When I have a People field in a form and have it set to align on the left. It is still showing right aligned. And I have it set to only allow one selection, but I still have space to add additional users. For 2010 this was never any issue and I must be missing a quick setting adjustment somewhere. Please help!

I need to be able to have a user click on a link, have a Nintex form launch, and the item that gets created be put into a particular subfolder that already exists. I dont want a workflow to do this. With sharepoint OOTB, just adding this to the URL would accomplish it "&RootFolder=/sites/apps/volunteer/Lists/Hours/Europe" Doing the same with the Nintex form does not. The item is ALWAYS created in the root, even if I go to the subfolder and click "New Item" while in the subfolder. How can I auto create the item in the appropriate subfolder?
We've been getting just a small amount of users that when trying to access forms on an Android app get a blank forms list (so far it is about 4 our of 500) All of the typical troubleshooting doesnt work (uninstall/reinstall, reboot phone, clear cache, log out log in). We've confirmed the users do 100% have access to the site/library where the form lives. Anyone seen anything like this or have any other recommendations for troubleshooting?
I have a process where i want to keep the records of each approval workflow that is run on an item. So, if a document has been through 3 approvals i want a user to be able to see the path for all three approvals. I'm looking for any ideas on how people think would be the best way to add those links and make that available. Right now i am writing the status url but it is overwriting the last run each time.

I want to know if anyone has lost a workflow? We had a workflow for one of our processes but when I logged in to make a change it has gone missing. The workflow list is empty. I do have a download of the nwp file and when I imported it and published it the system stated that a workflow already exists with the same name.Firstly, can anyone tell me how I can try to find the workflow (the Nintex nwp file)?Secondly, I can't locate the workflow in the SharePoint site - can someone direct me to the right place for it? Thanks in advance.
Anyone else see this behavior... Intermittently, I'll have problems editing workflows in Chrome where the Action Context Menu will not be displayed when I click the arrow in the upper right corner. I can trying clicking every part of the arrow and nothing happens. I can open another workflow in Chrome on the same PC and repeat the problem. I can go to another PC and open the same workflows in Chrome and reproduce the problem. But if I open the same workflows in Internet Explorer I have never seen this behavior. The problem is intermittent, as in many cases in Chrome, the context menu works perfectly. It seems pretty random. Is it just me?
We have a content syndication workflow we're building out that is currently utilizing two task lists. The first is the master where all the information is input such as the approver names, the attachment containing the content (pdf, jpg, .docx, etc), the project name and so on. The workflow generates a task for each approver to approve the content. The approvers cascade until all have approved the content. The tasks that are generated go into a separate task list. The problem we're hitting is that the attachments that render on each approver's form are not pulling the attachments from the main task list. Is there a way to pull in those attachments? Or provide a link to the attachment in the email? I'd prefer the first solution if available.
Is it possible to display the Task Status field in its own task form?I edited a "Start a task process" process with Nintex Forms, dragged the "Task Status" control on the form and changed its Control Mode to "Display", so that users can't mess with it.However it always displays "Not Started", even after the task has been completed and the task status column in the "Workflow Status" says "Completed". All I want to do is to display the status so that when a task is assigned to a group and one of the users complete the task, others can see that is't already been completed. At the moment the only indication is that the "Edit Item" is disabled. By the way, this works fine when using the default SharePoint task form before it's edited with Nintex Forms (you need to click "Show More" and Description, Priority, Task Status, etc. are displayed).
I am getting an issue on multiple list in a site collection. The online SharePoint forms are publishing and working as expected. When I go to push out a Nintex Mobile Tablet version of the form I am getting an error message. I am able to publish list that do not have date fields successful to mobile. If the list has dates I get the error. I even tried to remove all controls and publish just a blank form but the error is persistent. I think it has to do something with the actual list or site collection at this point. Not sure where to start trouble shooting. Are their known limitations with date/time fields in Nintex mobile? I verified all dates are set to 'standard' format instead of 'friendly format' There are no validation rules on the form. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello - I am trying to use Query Office 365 List action and am having a hard time with returning distinct rows. My list contains multiple columns, but I want to return column 1 and column 2 where distinct. As an example the list contains data such as this. Column 1 Column 2 Site 1 Red Site 2 Red Site 1 Blue Site 1 Red When I run the CAML query I get 3 records. I want to consolidate this to only see 2 distinct records. Sample List CAML Column 1 Column 2 Site 1 Red Site 1 Blue Site 1 Red <View> <Query> <Where> <Eq> <FieldRef Name="Service Site"/> <Value Type="Text">Site 1</Value> </Eq> </Where> </Query> <RowLimit>10000</RowLimit> </View> I would like to see the following returned, thinking i could use GroupBy to achieve that. But when I
