Symptoms

Workflow Scheduler not starting scheduled workflow

Diagnoses

The following error was discovered:

7008 The following error occurred while executing policy for CustomEventInstanceID: 5242 : Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. : 24408 K2SQL:{KUID} from 127.0.0.1:30152 does not have rights to Start Process Project NameProcess Name.

When creating a new workflow from a list/library and deploying directly from K2 Designer, the K2 Service account 'K2SQL:{KUID}' is added to the process rights with Admin rights. When deploying a workflow using Web PandD, only the current deploying user context is added with Admin rights and as such the Process Scheduler is not able to start the Workflow.

Resolution

The K2 service account for appit 'K2SQL:{KUID}' was added to Process Rights and given Admin rights after which the Process Scheduler is starting workflows successfully. The K2 Service account/KUID can be determined for your Appit environment via:

http://community.k2.com/t5/K2-Appit/How-To-Get-your-KUID/td-p/89785

A product enhancement request was also logged such that deploying via Web PandD would also add the K2 service account 'K2SQL:{KUID}' and give it Admin rights.
