+1I am new to Nintex and my company directed me to take all the available training, but my focus will be using Nintex with SharePoint. The SharePoint training describes the "State Machine", and I understand it's purpose. But the "How to Automate Complex Approval Processes" training talks about the "Branch By Stage" action. Are these just different names for the same function?
The terms "Lazy Approval" and "Express Approval" also seem to describe the same function.

Yes, the State machine and the Branch by stage seems to be the same action. I'm using Sharepoint on prem and we have the State machine action where as the Branch by stage seem to be the Nintex cloud action. Both work together with the change state action to move from the one branch to the next.
+3The workflow status also kept track of in state machine, so it could be reflected in the workflow status. It is also managed by the Workflow timer job, so it more friendly to a high workflow-load environment.
