Is there any option to put the K2 workflowon hold if it is waiting for any list item to be updated.

Thank you for logging this community post. You may want to have at the following community post to see if this helps here, as I don't think it is possible while waiting for a list item to be update but this could be a potential workaround.
If this does not help, you can log this as a feature request via our new site Ideas.K2.com so that you can motivate this yourself to get more votes to be pushed into our product.
