Symptoms

An error occurred where users were unable to access K2 Appit for SharePoint components. The error stated that for users to be able to build K2 solutions they would need K2 Solution Designer permissions. These users previously had these rights and are a part of the correct K2 Site Collection Groups.

Diagnoses

This issue was discovered to be in the changing of the name of the SharePoint site collection. This caused a mismatch between K2 and SharePoint where the groups that originally created / edited solutions could no longer access them.

Resolution

This issue was remedied by changing the name of the site collection back to it's original configuration. To make this change do the following:

1. On the site collection in question access Site Settings.
2. Find Title, Description, and Logo from the available options in
3. Change the site title back to the previously configured name.
4. Click OK.

After making these changes the site collection should again be available for use. It should be noted that if one wishes to change the site name there will be issues with all solutions built as the previously configured groups will no longer be valid. If a change to a site collections name needs to be made it is advisable to recreate the current site collection with the required name and use package and deployment to move solutions from one site to the other.
