Symptoms
Approximately 17 separate child processes all of which looked into the same folder with intent to grab and attach (to an email) the same file at the same time.
Several of the processes through the following error:
Could not find part of the path [DIRECTORY]:File PathFile
Diagnoses

Resolution
This was resolved by firing GoTo activities (from workspace) against the errored process instances.
