Symptoms

We are attempting to create a composite smartobject that has service object methods from a SQL Stored Procedure and a web service call. We are seeing that when we go to add the second service object method in K2 Designer we are unable to expand out any of the categories to get to the service objects. It will attempt to load but nothing shows up.

Diagnoses

Customer does not have Visual Studio installed so we can not get around this issue at this time by creating the composite smartobject there. This is a known issue with SmartForms on version 4.6.11. It is resolved in the SF rollup patch. We will go ahead and apply the patch to see if this resolves the issue.

We had some issues with the automated installer for SF Rollup 4611.32 and it did not properly apply the fix. After running the automated installer we saw that the behavior did not change. We attempted the manual install of this patch as well but saw same behavior. After more investigation we saw that after sending the zip of the fix to customer, the dlls included in the file were blocked.

Resolution

After unblocking all of the dlls in our SF rollup patch file we then did a manual install. This time we saw that after applying the patch we could now add multiple service object methods and create our composite smartobject as desired.

This fix is also included in our latest version of K2 Blackpearl 4.7 so upgrading to 4.7 is also another option to get around this issue.
