Is there a way to turn off any escalation when an error occurs in a process instance?

Have we considered to put a K2 exception handling code in your activities? When it is invoked, try to redirect the process instance to the end of the process (may be a dummy end activity).
Just one of the ideas, may be there are other work-arounds too.
