Process that reads an excel spreadsheet errors out with "The workbook cannot be opened"
Diagnoses
Reviewing the SharePoint logs for the time the error occurred shows that the K2 service account does not have permissions to access the SharePoint content database.
Resolution
Granting permissions to the K2 service account on the SharePoint content database resolves the issue.
