We have a SharePoint 2016 farm which was created using Minrole services. I’ve noticed that the web front end does not have Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Workflow Timer Service started by default. Should I manually start that then?

+1From Nintex Support:
We have found with Minrole, it is best to use custom roles and have the web application service & Timer Service running on the WFE's.
This should be clarified further. A diagram of a multi-server farm topology would be of benefit for the Min-Role configuration.
