Symptoms


When trying to work with the Smartforms Process Wizard or Smartforms Client events in either K2 for Visual Studio or K2 Studio, the wizards seem to be pointing to the wrong Smartforms server.
 

Diagnoses


This is a configuration that is defined in the Environment Library for the environment/K2 Server the thick client designer is referencing.
 

Resolution

Take a look at the Environment Library in Workspace for the environment. First, go to Workspace>Management Console>gexpand K2 server:port]>Environment Library>Default Template>Environments, and see which "environment" is considered the default (it is the "Development" template that is usually the default with a fresh install--this does not point to the development server, it's just the name of the template where everything is configured after install).

Depending on the environment that is defined as default, then browse to Workspace>Management Console>gexpand K2 server:port]>Environment Library>Default Template>Environments>gdefault environment name]>Environment Fields and take a look at the Smartforms Server field and what the connection string is defined as. Double check that the HOST name is the correct K2 Server name.
