set item premission

I have a list - where a user create a new item. When the item are created I needed to change the premission so only the user (who have created the item) and his/her manager are allowed to se or edit the item.

I have no problem (user set item premission) to remove all premission and set it for the user - but for the manager it would not work.

If I user get user profile and find manager (xxxxxxx) and put it on set item premission - the manager still not can see the item. So want can I do

    I'm not sure what's the exact issue...

     

    isn't manager added to list of granted users on list item by set permission action?

    or manager is is added to the list of granted users, but despite of that s/he still cannot see/edit the item?

    Manager added by action item premission and can still not see and edit the item

    ok, make sure manager has sufficient permision to the site.

    if you have lookup fields on list/form, make sure manager has at least read permissions to lookup source lists

    if you have people or group fields on the list/form, make sure manager has sufficient permissions to enumerate group membships for people fields backed groups
