how is it possible to open a solution designed / compiled with SP4
with K2 Studio running SP2a ?

Sorry, but it can not be done...
K2.net 2003 SP2a is not 'forward-compatible' with K2.net 2003 SP4, but...
K2.net 2003 SP4 is 'backward-compatible' with K2.net 2003 SP2a.
By the time SP2a was developed, we obviously did not know what would change for SP4.

+7That was what I guessed already.
So I have only two choices:
Make all the updates I have done for my project again with SP2a
OR patch the servers to SP4, this however can take some time till it'll be approved :)
