Save partial filled form

There are cases where form is long, and user needs to save the form fields and return filling up the rest in the later dates.

What would be the best practice for this kind situation?

    Are you talking about aspx pages, SmartForms or InfoPath forms?

    I'm using SmartForm. I don't want to add an extra activity for saving partially filled form. But I'm open to all good practices for this solution.

    Why don't you just put an 'Update' button on the Smartform - This will save all data without Finishing the Client Event.
