Restrain creation of duplicate items

Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a way to make a Nintex form or the SP list verify when an item is being created if a similar item already exists and, if it does, forbid the item creation.

I have a form where the user insert two company afilliates and a USD value.

What i wish is that if someone tries to create an item between affiliate A and affiliate B by "X" amount, but this item already exists in the list, that the form/list forbid the creation of the new item, avoiding a duplicated item.

I found something about "enforce unique values" in the SP list but I'm not sure if it would solve the situation, since i would have more than one logical condition.

Is it possible to do it in a Nintex form or SP list somehow? I couldn't find a solution online, maybe because I don't know how to ask the right question

Thanks a lot!
