Nintex Forms SP2013 - Cascading dropdowns - setting & disabling single options.

I have 2 drop down lists (populated from lookup lists) and the options in Market Segment are dependent on the Strategic Application selected:

If the filtered drop down has only 1 option then I would like it to be set automatically & the control disabled so the user does not have to bother selecting it & choosing the only option!

Can this be achieved by Rules or JS?

Any ideas appreciated

    setting the lookup value can only be achieved by javascript

    disabling control can be achieved either by rule or javascript
