Hi all,

Can we do in a Nintex Form an "Enforcing Relationship with Restrict Delete" when we use the Nintex List Lookup control? It's available in native SharePoint, but that is if the column is defined as lookup in the list itself.

But what if the source list is on another site, so we use a text field as column in the target list and connect it with the Nintex control?

Greets,

Peter

If your site containing the Parent list is in the same Site Collection as the site containing the child list, and the parent list is nested above it in the site collection, you can still use a lookup column.

If the list lookup control is only writing to a text column then it won't enforce the relationship, until you open the form up in edit mode and then try to resubmit it.

you can do it with little trick - forbid native sharepoint delete operation and build a workflow that will the delete instead. set the workflow to appear on right-click menu so that users can start it directly.

within the workflow you can enforce whatever logic you need.

it's described in detail here

Thanks Marian, I'll give it a try.

Greets,

Peter
