We are trying to implement a workflow process and our team develops only windows applications. I am wondering if it would be possible to implement this by not using asp.net and only using windows applications.
If possible, how difficult it is to implement compared to using asp.net

It is not difficult, coding an ASPX page or a windows form is not that much of a difference. K2.net ROM is the assembly that exposes the objects required to do this, have a look at the documentation for more information on how to use the object. That should answer most of your questions.
