Symptoms
Dear Team,
We have an inconsistent issue error while executing smart object with Oracle stored procedure that comes up suddenly as below
"Input string is not in correct format"
This procedure will work very well for sometime and suddenly this error will come up. Once this error comes up then continuously we will see the error for the day. The Next day will be again no problem.
Please let me know if this is already a known issue in connecting with Oracle Stored procedure.
Oracle Connection String is as below:
Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=cbq2-svu-oradb-scan.cbq.com.qa)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=ORCL.cbq.com.qa)))User Id=K2APPUSRPassword=U2tK2aP9$rValidate Connection=True
Please do help us in resolving this.
Diagnoses
During the Investigation:
1. I asked the customer to double check the existence of any null entries and use the NVL oracle function and modify the oracle package and refresh the service instance. he did that as you can see in ticket log.
2. We tried to reproduce it on the customer's machine for many times and we finally got it appear upon simultaneously running two service tester instances of the Oracle SMO for different entries this behavior is also intermittent and the "Input string was not in a correct format." kept appearing from time to time
4. We tested the output from of the oracle Package for the two entries simultaneously and it was working fine.
5. finally contacted the K2 Labs for a coldfix which resolved the issue
Resolution
Issue is resolved after applying a cold fix
