Is there a way to enable a manger view a certain user's worklist and operate on it -approval,rejection,delegation-

I want to programatically enable the manager of a certain employeeto do his work while the employee is absent. is this possible.

    Yes, u can try escalating  the activity after a certain amount of time and assign his manager as the new approver for that activity.
