Is it possible for the current process instance to continue running under a new version of the same process?

currently we can only do that in case the process instance went into an error state.

Do you mean you want to have a process automatically use a new version from any point in the process while still running (ont the fly)?

Dont think this will be possible at all, except for if it is in error state then you can retry using the newer version.
