Symptoms


We installed the latest k2 update (version 4.7) using both the upgrade package and the full installation package in both cases no problems were reported by the installers and seem to have completed successfully but we are faced with below problems,

1. Workspace is still showing the old version of it.
2. when trying to install updated sharepoint components on the SharePoint server, the installer doesnt work and complains about the 'version conflict" and it doesnt recognize the k2 blackpearl version is supposed to have already been upgraded to 4.7. - attached screenshot of the error. we made sure all pre-requisites are already installed including installing November 2016 CU update for SharePoint 2013.
 

Diagnoses


We ran the setup.exe from the The combined package for both k2 and Smartforms in repair mode. this resolved the issue
 

Resolution

customer closed the ticket upon resolving this issue by running the setup manager from the installation media as admin then going through till the end.
