Symptoms

I need to include a worklist item serial number, and the URL to the worklist item item (smartform) in an escalation email. This isn't normally accessible at that level (Escalation Event).
 

Diagnoses

The serial number is the combination of process instance ID and Activity Destination Instance ID. When using these in an escalation, some versions of K2 appear to restrict the ability to use the activity destination instance smartobject in an escalation event.
 

Resolution

In order to include a serial number, we must pass the existing value for Activity Destination Instance ID to the escalation event. It will not change as it normally would between activities, because the escalation retains the activity destination instance ID of it's parent activity.
