at which level do you want to import the UDA, farm, site collection or site level?

Exists the UDA at another level with same name or same GUID ID? Then import fails.

I have just encountered the same error andd was wondering if you have resolved this? I tried importing my UDA at the site collection level and it said it already existed, but it isn't available at the site collection settings. Can you post an update?
