Dropdownlist problem

Have a problem i only notice with regards a k2dropdownlist. I have a process that has a decline step within it. When u have a request declined u are able to edit your past information fully.

One off the fields is a dropdown list that is populated when the page loads first. This field is linked with a k2 datafield. It wont reselect the correct value that was previously selected. I can see the value in the db. how can i reset the selectedindex to reflect the correct value?
