We are looking for the same functionality. The scenario is I have to attach documents to document libraries by passing the newly created list id. Currently we are using attachment control to attach and use the workflow to move files to document library for new request. in Edit mode we placed a link button to upload the document directly to document library using javascript opendialogue. The below screen shows you our current implementation. As the Save and Continue feature releases, we would like to make use of it and avoid extra step to move documents from list item to document library.
