Changing the StartDate

Hallo,

Is it possible to change:
1. the StartDate of a process
2. Activity completion date

to accommodate historical data?

If not, what approach can I follow for getting historical data into the system (some completed, some only up until a specific stage within the process), with a true/accurate reflection of when it was started/updated, and time elapsed for completing activities.
