My workflow got stuck somehow and even after completing all the activites in workflow it still shows status as 'Inprogress' instead of complete...how do i change the status to complete?
Change the worflow status from InProgress to Completed manually?

You cannot change the status of the workflow manually. This is true for OOTB workflows as well.
What you can do is create another column that gets update by the workflow and then change the value of this column to Complete. All this workaround is good if you know what the issue is. Have you looked into logs why the workflow would not complete? Does it happen always of just for this workflow?
+2I am not sure what is making the work flow in progress state…
If I see View Workflow history – the workflow is listed under Completed Workflow…with start date as 5/26/2016 10.00am and completed at 6/10/2016 10.00am
If I see Workflows – the workflow is listed under running workflow with start date as 5/26/2016 10.00am and no end date with status in progress
