i have an old InfoPath form with a SharePoint designer (SPD) workflow on a list that I'm trying to look at where the workflow is sitting as it's showing In Progress. But every time I click on the items ellipses I get a correlation error. When I try and view the workflow history it goes to the nintex history, which it doesn't have any as they are SPD workflows.

so so with this happening I cannot stop, view or do anything with these old forms. Yes, I am in the process of converting them to Nintex forms and Workflows, but have to support these in the meantime,

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the ULS logs and look up the correlation id. See if it gives you more of a detailed error there.

I don't think that workflow history could help you to understand a correlation error, in your specific case.

But I think you didn't use the right menu to access it.

Even if you use Nintex Worfklows on your platform, you still have access to the default workflow history of an item.

If you follow "Workflows" link, you should have access to the history of workflows ran on your item.

I am actually using that item from the ellipses. That is when I get the correlation error. Details of the correlation error us below

Stephen,

This may be an error on your SharePoint list running that workflow.  Can you verify that the SPD workflow is indeed running?  You could go to SPD and republish the workflow, but that instance may be stuck in an errored state.

The error makes it seem as if the history page can't find an instance of the workflow, but it knows there should be one there. Otherwise it wouldn't get as far as Microsoft.Workflow.Client.InstanceManager.GetInterna before crashing.

Thanks Andrew, that's what I conculded. I've been Having issues with this, and I believe it was due to the fact that it was an infopath form with a SharePoint workflow. We are now in the process of conv them to Nintex.

Should you just let all the workflows finish before trying to convert?

It appeared that there actually was an issue with the SSL Certificate that was reissued and the Workflow service got mucked up. We had to re-register the new SSL certificate and this seemed to fix the issue.
