Can a user in a role be outside the domain ?

I know that items in roles can be based on the following entities

1. Users or Groups from Active Directory or SQL

2. other K2 Roles

3. SmartObject method result

I think the better way to do this is to declare your user inside the SQL Security provider. Once is declared you can use it in a role, you can give him right on processes, and he can be authenticated using a form authentication.
