Broker Management Console: Unable to register a new service instance of SourceCode.SmartObjects.Services.SqlService
 

Diagnoses

We are trying to register a new service instance of SourceCode.SmartObjects.Services.SqlService. However, immerdiately after clicking ?Register New Service instance ? we get the following error in a modal popup:

Error registering instance. Service returned the following message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

 

Resolution

have instructed the client to use the smart object tester tool instead which can be found in the following directory:

Program Files x86 >>> K2 Blackpearl >>> Bin

The has stated that they have managed to register the service instance from here.

The broker management tool was used within previous version of K2 as the default option to register service instances /service types but works the same way as the smart object tester tool, it is seen as an alternative option with similar functionality, the only difference is you are not able to create or test smart objects with the broker management tool as to the smart object tester tool. This now deprecated so it should removed from future version of K2.
