approval workflow for newly added approvers

I have a list form with approvers named at the bottom, when the form is saved the 'request approval' workflow goes out and works perfectly.

 

However if the form is edited and an additional approver is added the request approval does not go to them.

 

If i edit the workflow settings to request approval when items are modified (the generic workflow settings) then it will request approval from everyone, which I dont want.

 

Can I have the request approval workflow only go to those additional people added that have not approved yet instead of everyone listed?

    @biancaschutz ....what if you set your Approvers' field blank just before your workflow ends?

     

    If you want to save previous approver's name then before setting Approvers' as blank, you can store it in another column and make that field disable all the times (if you're using Nintex forms).
