Symptoms

We are trying to deploy the K2 for SharePoint through appdeployment.exe to a new web application but it is throwing the following error. The same environment already have K2 installed for other web applications. Please support on what should be done to correct the below error.

Arguments:
Exception: Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.WindowsInstaller, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=16a2c5aaaa1b130d' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified., The type initializer for 'SourceCode.Install.Common.SC_Product' threw an exception., Could not instantiate product model. Exception occured in file AppDeployment.Product.config, Exception occurred while trying to load the product model from file AppDeployment.Product.config. Make sure the file exists and the xml is well formed and valid., The type initializer for 'SourceCode.SetupManager.Global' threw an exception., Error while checking if application is ready to execute., Error while checking if application is ready to execute.
 

Diagnoses

the customer was told to take the dll 'Interop.WindowsInstaller' from a similar environment and apply it at the affected one. this resolved the issue
 

Resolution

The respected customer closed the ticket with the following note:
"
If you want I can close this ticket and log a separate ticket for the old SQL reference issue as the file missing thing is resolved.
"
i earlier sent him the following:
"
The error shows that there are some missing files issue here please do the comparison between the two environments to see what is missing
"
