Hello,

This is regarding a travel request workflow where a requestor submits a travel request, it creates a task for requestor's supervisor and when supervisor approves then it creates a task to the executive to approve/reject the request and so on... If the supervisor does not respond to the task for a certain period then that task is escalated to executives. Now a requestor by mistake submits the travel request with a wrong supervisor's name and later he edited his request and resubmitted the request with correct supervisors name. Now how to cancel the task already sent to the wrong supervisor because that task would be escalated to executives after a certain period of time and that would cause the executive to get two notifications for approval for the same request i.e one from the wrong supervisor and another from the correct supervisor. Are there ways when the requestor edit his request after the submission it would automatically cancel the previous task? Please help!

Hi,

if right now there are two workflows running, you could just terminate the wrong one, otherwise, if only the wrong one is running, you (or a site owner) could delegate an existing task to someone else, this will remove the previous assignee and send the notification to the new one..

Hello, thank you for your reply. As a number of users are using this system, they do not inform us about the change they made in the request. They just edit and submit the request. We only know when the executives inform us about the two notifications for the same request. So, are there ways if the workflow handles this situation automatically when requestor edit the travel request. Thank you!
