Symptoms

Issue occurred where a preceding rule was not working as expected in a process with parallel approval steps.
 

Diagnoses

Issue was found to be the fields that were being used in the preceding rule. The variables being used were not set as data fields which are required for this process.
 

Resolution

Data field variables were created for the parallel processes and were used to replace the previously configured variables. Testing was done to ensure that the workflow proceeded as expected, positive results were garnered. The following information is useful in configuring data fields:
