I have two versions of the same workflow and the items assigned to the old version need to be updated to the new version.
If your existing workflows are part-way through (say in a state machine), and the old and new workflows aren't designed to (a) save their full state in a re-usable form; and (b) start in an arbitrarily-chosen state based on saved data, then I think you have a problem.
