Insert new lines or carriage returns in a string separated by commas

Jump to solution

Hello,

I'm using the nintex workflows and I'm trying to figure out how to get the items that are in a string which are separated by a comma to appear in new lines instead.

I've tried using the Build String and Regular Expression operations along with the Replace inline function to insert carriage returns to replace the commas but it's not working.

Sorry if this is really a basic question, I'm somewhat of a newbie with this. Thanks!

Here's my example.

input string: text1, text2, text3, text4.....text

output (what I'm trying to get):

text1

text2

text3

text4

.

.

.

text

Hi

You can use a Regular expression action, by Insert Reference insert Newline to Replacement text:

Run now does'nt work but running the workflow will show the right result, e.g by log in history list:

or by Send notification:

Kind regards

Manfred

Thanks.

I had no idea a new line command was in the references Common tab.

What about for Nintex Online? There doesn't seem to be a Common tab.

see my answer to this question: Line Break in Multi Line column in Doc Library via Workflow . It's quite simple though
