I have a requirement to Save the list items to a folder based on the Status field value. For example, if status is selected as Active, the list item should be saved under the Active folder.

For nintex worklfow 2013, you should be able to do something similar using "Copy To SharePoint" action.

Before going down this path I would consider if the use of folders are actually required, or could your requirement be fulfilled by using multiple views or by grouping on 'Status' within your view.
Using grouping would give the impression of folders while keeping all items within a single pot. This would likely make future workflow processes simpler as they would not need to traverse a folder structure.
