Extract a part of item url string

Jump to solution

Hi,

i´d like to extract a "special" part of the current item url into a colum (set field action).

It´s a dynamic url length and i need to extract the value between the last "/" and "/" before to store it into the SP field.

Examples:

http://AMPSRB/gfgtest/999___/999666/Brief-999666.doc  = 999666

http://AMPSRB/4545/3434/ddfdf/eeefef/srese/feeef/123456/.doc = 123456

I tried the "for each + collection action" but I don´t know how to access the "second last" value.

It´s SP on Premise with Nintex Enterprise.

Any ideas?

Thx

BR

Michael

use Regular Expression action:

Pattern is:

\/(\d+)\/[^\/]*$

  • \/ matches the character / literally
  • 1st Capturing group (\d+)
    • \d+ match a digit [0-9]
      • Quantifier: + Between one and unlimited times, as many times as possible, giving back as needed [greedy]
  • \/ matches the character / literally
  • [^\/]* match a single character not present in the list below
    • Quantifier: * Between zero and unlimited times, as many times as possible, giving back as needed [greedy]
    • \/ matches the character / literally
  • $ assert position at end of the string
