Default Form Page Open on View Item

Hi

I have created a tabbed form which is working fine.  I was wondering if there was a way to open the form at a default tab? i.e. Section 1 in our case?

If we go the list that it is submitted too and view the item  I notice that the form seems to open at the last section where the user submitted the form.  In this case Section 2 -

In this case Section 3

It would be helpful if it opened at section 1 (or rather the tab 1)

Is there way of setting a default open/load on the form at all?

Thanks

Karen

Re: Default Form Page Open on View Item

Thank you Christophe Raucq

This is partially working for me with the javascript that they talk about.  My tabs are now defaulting correctly to Section 1

However the rest of the form is not.  It still shows the last section that was submitted.  I am not sure why?  I will need to look at the rest of the code to see if I can work something out.

Thanks for your help!  I had not seen the other post!

Re: Default Form Page Open on View Item

Karen,

Did you create your tab as a choice control?

Re: Default Form Page Open on View Item

Hi Christophe Raucq

Yes this is a choice control, if you select

> section 1 >  section 1 appears

Select

> Section 2 > section 2 appears

Select

> Section 3 > Section 3 appears

Each section has rules on them.

Thanks

Re: Default Form Page Open on View Item

Hi Christophe Raucq

I have re-read the article that you pointed me towards just to confirm if I had put in the incorrect javascript.

I noted that you mention that -"The JavaScript code is not executed when you View the item but when you Edit the item.".  This is exactly what I am trying to achieve, view section 1 when the item is viewed.

Otherwise the javascript is correct.  You point to an article which may help further.  However I cannot open the link to read the article.

Are you able to assist with the correct link, as I think that this may help me.

Re: Default Form Page Open on View Item

Hi Christophe Raucq

I have tried adding in the javascript to update the check box before the form is submitted, but it is not working.  I think it my understanding of the script.

The script is set to update the checkbox fields when the form is submitted so that it reverts to Section 1 when it is submitted.

I put the script in Forms > Settings > Custom Javascript

function MyFunction() {

     NWF$("#" + ddlStatus).prop('disabled', false);

     NWF$("#" + ddlStatus).val("Section 1");

     NWF$("#" + rdStatus).find(':radio:not(:checked)').attr('disabled', false);

     NWF$('#' + rdStatus).find('input[value=\'Section 1\']').attr('checked', true);

     NWF$("#" + chkStatus).find(':not(:checked)').prop('disabled', false);

     var objStatus = NWF$('#' + chkStatus);

     objStatus.find('input').each(function () {

         this.checked = false;

     });

     NWF$('#' + chkStatus).find('input[value=\'Section 1\']').prop("checked", "checked");

}

I then added in to the Save & Submit Button > Client Click

MyFuction()

Please note that I have already got some javascript in the save and submit button already, this may be causing an issue?

Thanks

Karen
