Office 365 User Profile - Custom Properties are invalid

Jump to solution

Hi there,

Environment:

  • Nintex Workflow for Office 365

Requirement:

  • We have a requirement that we need to get the User Details from the Office 365 User Profiles.
    • Existing fields: "Manager" and "Office".
    • New custom fields: "extension_division" and "extension_employeeID"

Issue:

  • I'm using "Office 365 Query User Profile" action item to read the values:
    • Existing fields: "Manager" and "Office".
      • I was able to read the values for the existing fields - no issues to get the values.
    • New custom fields: "extension_division" and "extension_employeeID"
      • Workflow errors "Properties is invalid".

Does anyone had this issue and how can I fix it ?

Thanks,

Arvi Katla

Arvi Katla‌ verify two things:

  1. Check if your custom properties are visible, when you access User Profile REST API by calling the following URL:
    https://{YOUR_TENANT_NAME}.sharepoint.com/_api/sp.userprofiles.peoplemanager/getpropertiesfor(@v)?@v={user-email}

(you just have to url-escape the e-mail adress )
It should be presented as a
    <d:Key>extension_division</d:Key><d:Value>value</d:Value> ‍‍
  2. If not, go to User Profiles in SP Admin Center --> Manage User Properties and then edit the properties, you created to verify if the "Default Privacy Setting" under "Policy Settings" is set to "Everyone":

I hope it helps

Regards,

Tomasz

Hi Tomasz

I think I am running into a similar error. I am trying to retrieve the Manager's email. Would your solution work for this?
