Topic

There are instances where upgrading from a lower version to Nintex Foxtrot 15.1.13 are necessary due to system updates, features and enhancements in version 15.1.13, and moving from split licensing to a shared central license server.

Instructions

The steps below include:
  • Check system requirements prior to installing
  • Uninstall Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010
  • Follow the Enterprise Deployment Guide for a Shared License server setup
    • Confirm Permissions and paths for user access to Nintex Foxtrot
  • Open Foxtrot Administrator
    • Troubleshoot DEP settings if it doesn't open
  • Migrate Database with user settings ie-names, passwords, permissions, and access
    • Can also manually setup Authentication, Users, Permissions
--------------
Attached is a pdf for Enterprise deployment; the system requirements are on there. You will need to also make sure that Microsoft Access Database 2010 is already uninstalled as it will cause errors and is not compatible with 15.1.13. The installation of 15.1.13 will check and automatically install Microsoft Access Database 2016. After you check your system requirements, you can fresh download and install, make sure that you check your paths for permissions, we recommend a shared license server setup, test that you can open Foxtrot Administrator: username 'admin' password: 'FOXTROT'.

**If you are unable to open Foxtrot Administrator, then you may need to check your DEP settings: Check DEP settings

Import user accounts from the old Foxtrot installation to the new one ie-names/passwords, permissions, and access of the users (important - don't delete anything in case you have to revert): Migrate Security Settings and Activity Logs

Manual Setup
1. Set up the authentication, permissions, and users: None (default setting), Simple, or Active Directory

After this, the the licensing server should be set up, so the client machines should be ready for installation and able to be opened by the user.

Additional Information

There have likely been a lot of changes since an upgrade. The botflow files would be saved locally on the other computers if the customer wanted to bring that over, but the customer will need to test the script and adjust or rewrite it if needed as some actions have been renamed and several added from earlier versions.
