Creating Item Reference to Newly Created Record

Hello,    If you have aever needed to use the newly created Smartobject record as an Item Reference in a Workflow it can be a little confusing.  The below example uses an Out Of The Box Editable List View and a Smartbox Smartobject. We will need to add a parameter, so we can pass the ID of the record created to the Workflow.          Once we have our Parameter created form our Smartobject you should see a rules screen that looks similar to this.       Next we will want to focus on the Save Toolbar rule. This rule holds the Create method that we are interested in.  Configure the Create for all items that have been added rule. It should looks similar to this.       Now the Output Mappings are what we are interested in. We want to Output the ID of the created record into our Parameter.           Save the View as everything is now configured correctly. We will need to pass this Parameter into a Form itself in order to get the value in a Workflow.  We are going to piggy back off the Save Bu

Setting up a default Login Issuer

K2 can use multiple authentication Issuers. The most common are Forms and Windows Authentication. We can choose which one we would like to auto login with.     #1. Navigate to K2 Management.  #2. Open Authentication > Claims > Issuers.  #3. You will see a screen similar to this.        #4. Select which Issuer you would like to use and click Edit.   #5. Check the Use For Login and click ok.     Now this issuer will be default issuer we use for logging in to Smartforms.

Hiding Worklist Actions using Worklist Control on the form instead of K2 Worklist Webpart in SP

Issue: How does one HIDE worklist actions using "Worklist" control on the form instead of "K2 Worklist" webpart in SharePoint?  Diagnoses: Hiding worklist actions can be done in the forms. Drag the 'Worklist' control and click the ellipses of 'Action Menu Items'. Uncheck the actions that you would like to hide and Save/Finish the form. Resolution: To "HIDE" the worklist actions, you will need to use the 'Worklist" control on your form instead of 'K2 worklist webpart' in your SharePoint. The following steps explain how to hide the actions using "Worklist" Control instead of using "K2 Worklist Webpart": - Select the form you would like to add the 'worklist' control.- Drag the 'worklist' control to your form.- Select the 'worklist' control and click the ellipses of 'Action Menu Items' under 'Properties'.- Uncheck the actions you would like to hide on the 'worklist' control and click OK.- Save/Finish the form.- Once you create the form, you can display it in SharePoint via "K2 Smartforms V

Hi all, Just something i'll be looking at on the horizon is outputting a form request in XML format .Need to extract form data to a xml and need to use this xml file in another syste.can we output relevant fields to an XML file?

Error into Visual Studio Solution after migrate from 4.6.11 to 4.7

Hello, After the update from K2 4.6.11 to K2 4.7, i get the following error into my Visual Studio SharePoint Solution  who using a reference to  SourceCode.HostClientAPI.dll and communicate with K2 with web service. I have the following Error into Visual Studio " Error occured in deployment step ' Add Solution' : Error: Cannot add the specified assembly to the global assembly cache : SourceCode.HostClientAPI.dll". I try to remove it manually from assembly but i have a error "Using by another application" / close Visual studio / iisreset  without sucess. Best regards,

Email sent twice in activity to same person?

Hi, I have a General activity in workflow and in there i have a default client event and also a send email event. The send email event sends to a specific email address, but it is sending the email twice... Any reason why? In my destination rule i have it set to:All at onceSpecify slots 1Resolve all role and groups to users Destination Set:Ad.User.getusersbygrooup.name -> my AD Group My AD Group has two users in it, is that the reason why it's looping through the activity and there sending the EMAIL event twice as well (based on number of users)If it is, is there any way round this? Or would i need to move the Send Email out of that Activity all together? Thanks

Viewflow - Execution Timeout Expired

Out of the office traceability

Hi all, Is there any way to trace tasks actioned when the out of the office is active? Our customer wants to know about which tasks had beed actioned from out of the office and we can't find this detail in K2 Reporting SMO. Thanks in advance

Be cautious with the new Responsive Forms (bugs/defects)

I've found some bugs (reported several of them, waiting to hear back from support), but wanted to give others a heads up on what I am seeing. If you try to drag an element or field on to the form, and it disappears, or didnt get placed like you think it should, often I think the form thinks the element was added (behind the scenes), but the UI doesnt pick up on it. Once you add these "phantom" elements, the form gets all kinds of borked.  It will work for what had been built to that point, but you can no longer import it without receiving errors, often you lose the ability to view/open the properties of individual elements, and even lose the ability to add new elements. I'm having to do ALOT of rework right now when this is going on

Preceding rule in K2 Five

Please guide on the workaround for the preceding rule in k2 five. It doesn't exists any more. Scenario:I have 1 task which is being used by 4 different group. after the acceptance of 1,2 or all groups, in my workflow it will succeed by executing thesmartobject to update the record status.The problem is how to determine that 1, 2 or all groups accepted the request. There should be a preceding rule? Regards

Installing Cumulative Updates - Do I need to stop traffic to server?

Hi there.  I'm wondering when installing CU's do I need to stop traffic to the server to keep end users from using K2 in the given environment.  I have been doing that to be on the safe side, but I'm questioning now whether or not it's necessary.  We use K2 pretty much 24/7 as we have night shift folks as well as day shift, so installing a CU and getting everyone off the server is kind of a hassle.  It seems to deploy just like a package, and I've never had any issues with deploying packages when folks are in the environment. Thoughts? Rob

Redirect a Worklist item - really need a solution

Hi, Might have posted this before, but still can't figure how to do this. 1) User submits a form2) The form has to go for approval3) If the approver does not reply to the approval, then allow colleagues from TeamA to redirect the worklist item How is this possible for TeamA to access the worklist item and redirect it? The TeamA are not part of the original worklist destination users, TeamA also do not have administrative rights and i dont want to give them access to workspace either. If there is a way, please let me know, as I need to implement this asap. Can TeamA be made members of the Worklist destination users (without getting any emails) while the original Approver does her the email? Thanks,

Is it possible to assign Text field value to Calculated field through custom Javascript code in Nintex Form?

Hi Everyone, I have one requirement in Nintex Form for office 365 where I have to copy the entered data in Text Field value to another text field and calculated field and am trying to achieve to this through custom java script code and am able to copy the data from one text field to another text field but not able to assign the value to calculated field. And calculated field already contains one formula for sum of two text box fields. If any one knows the answer, please suggest me whether it's possible or not?    Bonjour,    Je cherche a établir une connexion à partir d'un client (SourceCode.Workflow.Client) vers une instance K2.    Le client se trouve sur ma même machine que K2    Dans la string de connexion il est demandé d'entrer le host de K2.    Où puis-je trouver cette valeur?    G essayé     - "localhost" (port 80 et 5252)   - "127.0.0.1" (port 80 et 5252)   - "IP Du Serveur" (port 80 et 5252)   - "k2workspace-xxx.be"  (port 80 et 5252​)    Le message d'erreur m'indique à chaque fois: Unable to resolve address No such host is known.    Toute suggestion sera la bienvenue. Cordialement.Claude

Checkbox clearing after re-initialization

Hello Everyone, I have a weird predicament (I have found a workaround, I am just hoping I can understand the issue better).  I have a Picker that pulls data from AD and takes  a User ID and places it into a different field. I had an issue of the User ID staying in the control, it would disappear quickly (not sure why). To fix that Issues I added an initialize method to the rule that changed the picker to execute the initialize method. This view also happens to have a checkbox list. If I enter data into the checkbox list first and then get a name from the picker the initialize method that occurs after the picker has been changed clears out the checkbox list. I have added screen shots of a reproduction of the issue:Screenshot 1: Picture of viewScreenshot 3: screenshot of after Picker filled  Thank you, Paul

Problem with Flow and messages in SharePoint

I have a Flow in SharePoint with Nintex, when I start the flow and copy the documents to a library, it throws the following message: "The request message is too large. The server does not allow messages greater than 2097152 bytes". Could you tell me what is due?

Nintex Forms O365 access denied for external user?

Nintex Forms O365 access is denied for external user when a document in document library is shared with edit permission. The document is shared via email. When the user clicks the link and sign in using his Microsoft account and he is able to see the document. But when he clicks to edit the properties the access for Nintex form is denied.

Responsive Form becomes Unresponsive after a certain number of entries

I created a responsive form with a repeating section. I created hidden fields that stores the data from the fields in the repeating section. I have tried testing the form and if I enter 1-5 records in the repeating section it will save to my SharePoint list. However, if I try to enter more than 5 records the "Saving" icon just spins on the screen. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.
