Below are the questions that were answered during the live Q&A on the third webinar:

  1. If you don't publish all forms by the April 2026 date, will the forms still work in SharePoint, but you just will not be able to edit the form until it has been published with the new SPFX form designer?

    • The forms app add in model won't work post the April 2, 2026 date, so you wouldn't be able to view or edit the forms. We recommend upgrading your forms to the new SPFx app before April 2, 2026.

  1. After converting all the forms on a SharePoint site to the SPFx app, do I need to remove the old Nintex Forms for O365 app?

    • It's not required, but you can.  We recommend leaving it in place until you're certain all forms have been migrated, and you're completely ready to remove it.

  1. What happens if a form is converted to the new SPFx app, but then someone opens/publishes the form in the old app?

    • In this situation, you’d have to republish the form in the SPFx app again.  This is also the rollback method if something does go wrong with the SPFx conversion during remediation.

  1. What is the best option to Retire unused/inactive forms without Data Loss?

    • The only potential for data loss in unused forms is if you have unmapped controls. In the case of this we'd recommend upgrading the forms or maintaining an export of the form to upgrade to in case the data is needed.

  1. What happens if some unused forms are not migrated/Retired before Deadline?

    • If you maintain an export of the form, you should be able to import it into the SPFx app directly and remediate it directly in the SPFx app.

  1. What permission & Nintex Role is required to Complete the Upgrade?

    • Full Control on the list for the form remediation.

  1. How can we stop users from creating new legacy Forms

    • There's no current methodology for this. We recommend working with the list owners during the remediation process to ensure they know to only create using the new SPFx app. After moving fully to the SPFx app, the old app can be removed to prevent further legacy forms development.

  1. Do we need to upgrade On-Prem legacy forms as well? Or is this just specific to SPO.

    • Specific to SPO.  On-prem relies on a solutions deployment methodology and doesn't support New Responsive forms yet.

  1. It has been my experience when upgrading workflows, that I had to change some actions that worked in the plug-in, but changed on the workflow cloud.  Does the same happen for forms? Any controls are not working anymore?

    • The new responsive forms functionality should be the same between the two apps.  For conversion to new responsive from classic, or old responsive, there are differences.

  2. What is the new SPFx app called in the Share Point store -  "Nintex Automation Cloud" or "Nintex Automation"?

    • Nintex Automation Cloud

  1. Do we need to change all lookups once we upgrade our forms?

    • Lookups should migrate without issues, but should you run into an issue when you're testing out the upgraded lookups, we recommend that you re-add the lookup and proceed.

  1. I have InfoPath Forms and SharePoint Designer On-Prem, however we are looking to migrate to Nintex K2 5 - what is the difference with SPFx.

    • Nintex K2 5 and the Nintex SPFx app are different apps.

  2. What happens to forms with custom java script when upgraded to new responsive forms?
