Jump to solution

Does anyone having idea or best solution to display manager's name of an employee, in Nintex form   Do we have any idea if within a Nintex form,
can you look up a user's manager's name?

e.g. for a leave application form, if I am applying for leave, can my manager's name be automatically selected from windows active directory?

You can use a formula and set something like this:

userProfileLookup(Current User,"Manager")

Fernando's solution should work well for this. If so, please mark his response as the correct answer.

Keep in mind this will not work in SharePoint Foundation (since you need Standard or Enterprise to have the User Profile Service). Plus, this would require that you're actually creating user profiles and keeping them up to date.

So, you could use this on the form and then have a step of the workflow perform an LDAP query against the users AD account to find the value of the manager attribute and update as necessary.
