Failed to query list data. Unable to parse item limit value ' '.

I have a workflow to set a Reference Number from a prefix number if blank and I get the following error

Failed to query list data. Unable to parse item limit value '                '.

Any ideas what this could be?

What action? How is it configured? Could you share your workflow and list template?

Re: Failed to query list data. Unable to parse item limit value ' '.

Hi Fernando,

This is the section of the workflow that fails:

Run If:
Condition: If Current item field equals value

Where: Title

             Value

Query List - CAML Query:

<Query>

  <Lists>

    <List ID="{8DB0A4CF-D523-4B1D-89DE-0DEF678F2656}" />

  </Lists>

  <ViewFields>

    <FieldRef Name="Prefix" />

    <FieldRef Name="Next_x0020_Number" />

  </ViewFields>

  <Where>

    <Eq>

      <FieldRef Name="Title"  />

      <Value Type="Text">{ItemProperty:ContentType}</Value>

    </Eq>

  </Where>

</Query>

FYI - We have different form types (content types) dependent on the location of the user

This is where my error keeps occurring.

Thanks in advance.

Claire

Claire,

If I understand what you are trying to do, see the screenshot below:

To check for a blank value, use the "is null" value for the field.  This essentially means blank without having to declare spaces with quotations.

The list it's looking up the information from is the parent site. This doesn't work for me unfortunately.

It needs to check if the reference is blank, if it is it looks up another list to obtain the next available number

Hi Claire,

The way Eric is showing seems to be right.

If I understand you right: You have a list with different Numbers/Prefixes and you have to pick the right one (empty field at "Next Number").

So this is the solution:

I have a very similar Query. I have a list with Projectnumbers and have to search the next free number:

<Query>

  <Lists>

    <List ID="{4E4A7739-55E8-4446-A066-532F40F0DFA3}" />

  </Lists>

  <ViewFields>

    <FieldRef Name="Title" />

  </ViewFields>

  <Where>

    <IsNull>

      <FieldRef Name="Spalte2"  />

    </IsNull>

  </Where>

</Query>

This respond the first free number in "Spalte2". Please take care of the sortorder of the View "All Elements".

I hope this will help - If not - let me know. ;-)
